The mission of the IACP Foundation is to serve law enforcement by securing and providing financial resources to support leadership, education, training and research programs, and to assist survivors of law enforcement officers killed and disabled in the line of duty. This mission is accomplished by the following means:
- Sponsoring education and training programs for law enforcement officers;
- Sponsoring research designed to improve law enforcement services and publishing the results of such research; and
- Providing financial assistance for education purposes to needy survivors of law enforcement officers who are killed or disabled in the line of duty.
IACP Foundation Vision
It was the vision of the founders of the IACP Foundation that the Foundation not only develop a platform for experimentation, but also that the Foundation would be a self-sustaining laboratory where new ideas and concepts can be developed and tested. The founders also hoped that the Foundation would enhance the professional development of the law enforcement community and develop efforts to assist families of law enforcement officers killed or disabled in the line of duty.
The resulting vision for the IACP Foundation is that the Foundation shall be a recognized leader within the police community in marshaling resources of sponsors, partners, IACP members, and other supporters in sponsoring innovative programs to produce state of the art research, education, training, and survivor support for the police community. These programs will provide progressive solutions that enhance and improve public safety, security, and quality of life in our global community.
