Judy F. Marks is president of Lockheed Martin Transportation and Security Solutions, a Lockheed Martin Corporation company based in Rockville, Maryland. In this role she manages the three lines of business which focus on advanced aviation management, security and other mission-critical information technology solutions.
Lockheed Martin Transportation and Security Solutions specializes in air traffic management; transportation, airport, physical and border security; and civil agency efforts involving advanced systems for managing sensitive information, such as census data capture, electronic records archiving, and communications network infrastructure programs. In addition to these specialized areas, a significant portion of the business is dedicated to programs that assist law enforcement organizations in meeting mission-critical requirements; programs include an integrated command, control, communications and information system for the London Metropolitan Police Service, a critical infrastructure protection system for the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System. With headquarters in Rockville, Md., Transportation and Security Solutions also has major facilities in the Washington Metropolitan Area, New York, N.Y., Atlantic City, N.J., Eagan, Minn., Orlando, Fla., and the United Kingdom.
Prior to joining Transportation and Security Solutions, Mrs. Marks served as president of Lockheed Martin Distribution Technologies. Marks was instrumental in positioning Lockheed Martin as one of the world’s leading suppliers of automation and recognition systems for national postal providers such as the U.S. Postal Service and the United Kingdom’s Royal Mail.
Having started her career with IBM in 1984 as a systems engineer, Mrs. Marks rapidly advanced into management, serving in a variety of positions including engineering management, program management, business development, and marketing positions before her appointment as Distribution Technologies president in 2001.
Mrs. Marks has a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She currently serves on the advisory board of the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science at Lehigh University, the Board of Visitors of the University of Maryland College of Computer, Mathematical and Physical Sciences, the Policy Board for RTCA, Inc. (a Federal Advisory Committee for the Federal Aviation Administration), the Foundation Board for the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), and is vice chair for New Jobs for New York board of directors. New Jobs for New York is a not-for-profit organization designed to encourage economic development throughout the state.
